Apprentices
|
From 1st October 2010 there is a new minimum hourly rate for apprentices.
The new rate of £2.50 per hour applies to:
· apprentices under 19
· apprentices aged 19 and over, but in the first year of their apprenticeship
The new minimum wage rate applies to time working plus time spent in on-the-job and off-the-job relevant training.
You may think it is unfair that you are paid less, but the Government is making allowances for your employer giving you time off to gain qualifications and investing their time in your on-the-job training.
