Length of training and wages
How long does it take?
Apprenticeships take 1-2 years.
Advanced Apprenticeships take 3-4 years.
What will I earn?
Your pay will vary depending on the job that you're doing and your employer. The UK average wage for employed apprentices is £137 (after deductions) and the legal minimum for apprentices is £80.00 a week. * You can claim EMA or Education Maintenance Allowance if the household income is less than £30,810. Some training providers may also offer bonus payments for achievement and progression. Child benefit will continue for all young people on non-employed apprenticeships and if families get child tax credits these will also carry on.
